I have been excitedly learning the role of James Meredith in the opera Kommilitonen!, only to hear that the composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies has died today. This project with the Welsh National Youth Opera is going to be of special significance in light of his passing. A leading composer of our times, his endeavour towards bringing about social change through his music will be celebrated through this production in July.
