In 2004 when I was pursuing a career in computer science I decided to join a choir to do something different. That was the first time I stumbled upon sheet music in my life and it was there that I started “singing out” that eventually lead to a career in opera. There is never a dull moment when singing with or attending a concert of this creative and adventurous choir, the Stop Gaps Choral Ensemble, that sings music from Bollywood to Beethoven. I toured with this choir to Choir Olympics in China and Germany.
Seven years after leaving India, I am delighted to hear that the same choir is touring the UK and the icing on the cake is that they have invited me to sing a couple of pieces with them.
Do not miss this charity concert £5. Sunday, May 20, Sacred Heart Church, Trott Street, Battersea SW11 3DS London. Call 020 7223 2747
